Blau-Weiß Linz only takes one point from Amstetten
The league leaders must settle for a draw. This could see the top spot shift to Vienna.

SKU Amstetten kicked off the eighth round of the ADMIRAL 2. Liga against league leaders Blau Weiß Linz. The two sides drew 1-1 after goals from Vucic (41') and Peham (76').
Efficient Linz side takes the lead
The away team had the first clear-cut chance. After a free-kick near the corner flag, Maranda headed it on for Frieser. The shot was blocked on the line by Offenthaler, and Ronivaldo's follow-up shot hit the post (16').
In the 24th minute, the Mostviertel side also had their first real scoring opportunity. Nigerian Augustus sprinted down the right flank towards goal and tried his luck from close range at a tight angle. Linz goalkeeper Giuliani was ready.
The home team saw that something was possible here. Peham appeared in the 30th minute and tried to head a low ball towards goal, but Giuliani was again the victor.
However, just before halftime, the Upper Austrians celebrated. A corner kick was flicked on by Pasic towards Vucic, who was able to tap it in from close range to give them a 1-0 lead (41'). Before the halftime whistle, the lead was almost doubled as Kreiker tried a full-instep shot, but the ball sailed just over the bar (45+1').
Physical second half
As the match progressed, the challenges became a bit rougher and tempers flared. Blau Weiß Linz again created the first compelling moments with a shot from Weinhauer. The ball was cleared off the line with a chest block (56').
Amstetten did not back down. In the 60th minute, Wimmer had the biggest chance of the half so far for the Mostviertel side, curling the ball over the bar. Ten minutes later, Offenthaler headed a cross from Augustus over the goal (70').
Amstetten earns their goal
The equalizer, making it 1-1, finally came in the 76th minute through prolific scorer David Peham. The 34-year-old met a pinpoint cross from Vötter with a header, placing it precisely into the bottom left corner of the goal. In the 80th minute, he almost added another goal but smashed the ball against the crossbar.
A few minutes before the end, Ruschke sent a deflected shot just wide of the goal (86'). Madric missed the winning goal in the 90th minute.
As no further goals were scored, the Mostviertel and Linz sides drew for the first time since 2019. The point gained keeps Linz at the top of the table for now, but Vienna could overtake them.
