In the 8th round of the ADMIRAL 2. Liga, the Young Violets defeated Kapfenberger SV 1-0.

Maximilian Uhlig's team started the match better. The visitors almost immediately took the lead with their first attack. Youngster Bruno Jerabek powered his way through on the left flank and slotted the ball into the top right corner for a 1-0 lead (13').

However, after that, the Styrians were the dominant team. Michael Liendl's side created two excellent chances (28'/31'), but failed twice against Stefan Blazevic in the Viennese goal.

Young Violets with another strong start

Shortly after the break, there was a curious set-piece. Jerabek curled the ball into the goal for what would have been a 2-0 lead, but was shown a yellow card by the referee because the ball had not yet been cleared for play. Vinko Colic safely saved the ensuing free-kick (47').

The Kapfenbergers then worked hard for the equalizer. Emmanuel Ojukwu narrowly missed with a header (67').

Shortly before the end, the Young Violets almost sealed the win. Colic misjudged the ball, but Austria could not capitalize on the chance (81'). Although it became frantic once more, it ultimately remained 1-0.

In the standings, Kapfenberg remained at the bottom of the table - the Young Violets climbed to third place.
