Vienna is smiling from the top of the table!

On matchday six of the ADMIRAL 2. Liga, First Vienna FC wins 2-0 against SK Rapid II.

Vienna approaches their game offensively from the start. However, Anselm gets the first top chance after a mispass from Tutunci. The former WSG striker fails to beat Orgler.

Post Shot and Goal Assist

In a frantic opening phase, Soukouna, following a counter-attack, hits only the post with a deflected shot (10.). Anselm cannot beat Orgler again five minutes later. The same goes for Fillafer, who fails to beat the Young Rapid goalkeeper with a chip (24.).

Rapid repeatedly has offensive moments, but clear chances are missing.

After half an hour, it's Rosenberger who converts a deflected cross from Soukouna. The Frenchman presses well in the build-up, thus earning his third assist of the season.

Comfortably Played Out

At the start of the half, Vienna focuses primarily on stability. Rapid has more of the ball, but barely penetrates the opponent's third.

Only after 67 minutes does Rapid get a first promising chance. Music beautifully threads the ball through to Mahir with the outside of his foot, who, when shooting, hits less of the ball than the opposing goalkeeper Unger.

Bauer can - already in the final phase - block a Jozepovic shot with a tackle. Otherwise, the hosts no longer appear in the opponent's danger zone.

Zimmermann, of All People

Instead, Vienna seals the deal. It is none other than substitute Zimmermann (88.) who, after a square pass, shoots freely and thus decides this game. The 24-year-old was under contract with Rapid from 2020 to 2025, playing 45 games for the second team and 47 for the professionals.

Vienna is thus temporarily leading the table. Blau-Weiß Linz (twelve points) and FC Liefering (ten points) can still overtake Enengl's team.
