Schubert Gala! Voitsberg demolishes Wels

ASK Voitsberg celebrates a clear away victory in the tenth round of the ADMIRAL 2. Liga!

The promoted side prevails 6-2 against FC Hertha Wels, turning an early deficit around. The outstanding player of the match is Fabian Schubert, who already bagged a perfect hat-trick in the first half.

Double strike brings the turnaround

However, the hosts get off to a better start. After a cross from Oliver Kregar, the Voitsberg players are unable to clear the ball decisively. Marek Svec seizes the opportunity and puts Wels in an early lead with a clean strike from a turn (3').

Shortly after, Christopher Wernitznig even has the chance for 2-0, but his long-range shot is denied by Filip Dmitrovic.

The guests then strike back clinically. After a corner kick, the ball lands in the scramble with Adem Mustafic, who taps in for 1-1 (25'). Just one minute later, Voitsberg definitively turns the game around: Paolo Jager provides a perfect assist for Schubert, who scores for 2-1 (26').

But that's not all: After a foul by Luca Tischler on Manuel Polster, the referee points to the penalty spot. Kilian Schröcker guesses the corner, but cannot prevent Schubert's well-placed shot into the bottom left corner (31').

And the goalscorer adds another before the break. After a cross from Polster, Schröcker cannot intercept the ball. Schubert is perfectly positioned and taps into the empty net – the perfect hat-trick is complete (39').

Goriupp seals the deal

After the change of ends, Schubert has an early chance for his fourth goal, but the attacker squanders a great opportunity for 5-1 (48').

Nevertheless, the fifth goal comes shortly after. After another corner, Schröcker initially makes a strong save, but Daniel Goriupp reacts quickest and heads the rebound over the line (57').

In the final phase, the hosts only manage to flatter the scoreline: Nikolas Freund reduces the deficit to 2-5 (83').

However, Christopher Wölbl restores the old advantage shortly after (86'). The 6-2 is ultimately the final goal of a memorable and high-scoring match.

With this clear victory, ASK Voitsberg improves to tenth place. Hertha Wels remains in 14th place in the table with eight points.

For Wels, the action continues already on Tuesday in the round of 16 of the UNIQA ÖFB-Cup with a home game against Bundesliga bottom-dweller WAC. Voitsberg will host Sturm II next Saturday for the Styrian derby.
