Arthur Fils has won a Masters tournament for the first time in his career.
In the Cincinnati final, the Frenchman defeated Frances Tiafoe 6-3, 1-6, 6-0. The 22-year-old thus celebrates the perfect dress rehearsal for the US Open.
It is the first Masters 1000 title for a Frenchman in twelve years. Fils jumps from 21st to eleventh place in the ATP world rankings.
