Backup Lock leads Seattle to victory
Instead of Darnold, backup quarterback Drew Lock led the Seahawks to a 13-10 home victory against the New England Patriots.
New England entered the fourth quarter with a 10-3 lead, but two interceptions by Patriots QB Drake Maye turned the game around. First, Lock found star receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a 10-10 equalizer, shortly after which Seahawks kicker Jason Myers put Seattle up 13-10.
Maye misses game-winning opportunity in final minute
Maye's final attempt to secure an away victory for New England just seconds before the end of the game resulted in an interception by Josh Jobe in the end zone.
A bitter blow for New England: New acquisition A.J. Brown also suffered an ankle injury in the first half and was unable to continue playing.
