Early Decision! KAC Suffers Another CHL Defeat
The Klagenfurt team suffers a clear home defeat against KooKoo. The game is decided already in the first period.
EC KAC suffers a bitter home defeat on the fifth matchday of the Champions Hockey League!
The Klagenfurt team ultimately loses 3:5 against KooKoo from Finland. For KAC, it is already their fourth defeat in five games, which puts the Top 16 far out of reach.
Furious Start by the Visitors
The visitors already make everything clear in the first period: Siikonen (11th), Meskanen (12th), Rooba (16th), and Nousiainen (18th) give KooKoo an early 4:0 lead.
Only after the first break does KAC find their way into the game, rewarding a strong phase with a quick double strike from Nickl (33rd) and Petersen (35th). The ICE club thus fights its way back into the match.
KAC Briefly Nears a Comeback
Also in the third period, they are initially the more dominant team and briefly get back into contention with Aabo's 3:4 (43rd), but then Siikonen scores the 5:3 from the Finns' perspective just a few seconds later (43rd).
Ultimately, the score remains, and KAC suffers its fourth consecutive CHL defeat. The only win was a 2:1 after overtime in the opener against Bordeaux. Their next opponent is Eisbären Berlin on October 14.
