Official! Leipzig swoops for Premier League relegated player
The German Bundesliga club signs a new center-back and pays a substantial sum for him.
Another new signing for RB Leipzig!
The German Bundesliga club strengthens its squad with Maxime Esteve from FC Burnley. The "Red Bulls" officially announced this on Friday.
According to various media reports, a base transfer fee of 25 million euros will go to the Premier League relegated club. With bonus payments, the deal could exceed the 30 million euro mark.
Anticipating a departure?
The 24-year-old center-back played 34 games in the Premier League last season and was a regular starter. In Leipzig, he could be an anticipatory move ahead of an upcoming departure of Castello Lukeba or El Chadaille Bitshiabu.
Burnley signed the Frenchman from his home club Montpellier for twelve million euros in summer 2024.
