Done Deal! Man Utd snap up Chelsea's top talent
A Brazilian moves from the "Blues" to the "Red Devils" after just one season. The transfer fee is substantial.
Andrey Santos is leaving Chelsea FC and moving to Manchester United.
The "Red Devils" made this official on Monday. The 22-year-old Brazilian signs at Carrington Road until 2031, with the fixed transfer fee reportedly amounting to 56.3 million euros.
Previously, Man Utd had been rejected in their search for a new central midfielder by Elliott Anderson (Nottingham Forest) and Mateus Fernandes (West Ham United).
Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur won the race, forcing United to look elsewhere for a Casemiro replacement.
Arrived from Brazil in 2023
Santos, who has already made six appearances for Brazil's "Selecao", had already moved from Vasco da Gama to London in January 2023 for around 12.5 million euros.
Chelsea loaned Santos back to Vasco da Gama, to league rivals Nottingham Forest, and to French partner club RC Strasbourg until summer 2025. The stocky central midfielder actually spent the past season at Chelsea FC, making 27 Premier League appearances for the "Blues".
In addition to Santos, a Belgian midfield star is also reportedly set to join Manchester United (all info >>>).
