Dursun Goal Disallowed: Swiss Champions Thun Suffer Debacle
The surprise champions from Switzerland can already write off the Europa League group stage after the first leg against Lech Posen.
FC Thun continues to have major problems in the new season.
After the Bernese Oberland side, who sensationally became Swiss champions last season as a promoted team, already suffered two bitter defeats in the league against YB Bern and FC Basel, they now have to accept a very bitter defeat in European competition as well.
In the first leg of the Europa League playoffs, Thun lost 0:7 to Lech Posen. The Swiss conceded five goals in the first half alone. Consequently, Thun made three substitutions at halftime, with Austrian Legionnaire Furkan Dursun among those coming into the game.
The former Rapid striker then even scored a consolation goal in the 66th minute, but the goal was disallowed due to a wafer-thin offside position.
