Drawn! Sturm could face ... in next CL qualifying round
If the Graz side overcome Hearts of Midlothian in the second Champions League qualifying round, they will face Fenerbahce or Gornik Zabrze in the subsequent round.
SK Sturm Graz knows their potential opponent for the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League!
If the "Blackies" prevail in the second qualifying round against Scottish runners-up Hearts of Midlothian (first leg, Tuesday, from 8:30 PM in the LIVE ticker), their opponent in the subsequent qualifying round will be either Fenerbahce Istanbul or Gornik Zabrze.
These two clubs must first play off against each other to advance. The winner would be Sturm's potential opponent.
Match dates would be August 4/5 (first leg) and August 11 (second leg).
Advancing against Hearts would open several doors
Reaching the third qualifying round of the Champions League would also guarantee a spot in the UEFA Europa League league phase, should they fail to make it to the Champions League league phase.
If the Graz side also advance in the third Champions League qualifying round, they will be in the playoff (the last qualifying round), where LASK already has a guaranteed spot.
However, if Sturm's Champions League qualification journey ends against Hearts of Midlothian, the Graz side will transfer to the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League.
